Details: This is a striking mini scarab pendant fabricated in 18k yellow gold with green amethyst. chrysoprase and diamonds. There is a textured bale that opens and allows for easy wearability on various chains or beads. 

According to the founder. Lauren Harwell Godfrey. I began work on these scarabs and then decided to take a trip to Egypt.  I have long been fascinated by the ancient culture of Egypt and it's rich visual use of hieroglyphs and symbols. I especially love scarabs for what they represent: rebirth and renewal.

I was lucky enough to get one made in time to bring it to Egypt and take it to the pyramids and ancient sites where so many scarabs are represented in the art. My version features contrasting textures with faceted and smooth stones sourced in complementary colors. As is typical in my work there are patterns. engraving lines and details like the tiny little diamond pyramid that defines the center of the piece.
